  • Question: Can We See the Building?

Answer: Absolutely, you can schedule a time to tour our facilities. All visitors will be required to show photo ID for security purposes. Call (205) 556-5955 to schedule a tour of our Alberta location or (205) 553-0004 to schedule a tour of our East location.

  • Question: Does Tender Loving Care Have a Security System?

Answer: Yes, we have monitored security and fire at both locations.

  • Question: What If My Child is Sick or Gets Sick During the Day?

Answer: Parents will be called and/or texted during the day to pick up children who become ill. Children are not admitted to the center if exhibiting signs of illness. Children must wait 24 hours after fever, diarrhea, or vomiting to return.

  • Question: Do I Still Have to Pay Tuition if My Child is Absent?

Answer: If your child is absent, due to sickness or other reasons, we still require payment for the days you are signed up for. This policy is standard at most licensed daycare providers.

  • Question: Is There a Minimum Number of Days My Child Can Attend?

Answer: We offer part-time care for pre-schoolers and is 25 hours weekly. This can be broken up into three 8-hour days or five 5-hour days.

  • Question: Do You Offer Drop-In Care?

Answer: Because DCFS requires us to maintain our student/staff ratios, we plan our staff's work schedules based on the number of children scheduled to attend that day. We do not offer drop-in care.

  • Question: Do You Practice Fire/Tornado Drills?

Answer: We practice fire and tornado drills to ensure that the children are familiar with what to do in the event there was an emergency.

  • Question: Are You Closed for Holidays?

Answer: We are closed during major federal holidays and have the option to have closure weeks that are scheduled in advance so parents have plenty of notice.

  • Question: What is the Drop Off/Pick Up Procedure Like?

Answer: Parents sign their children in and out through the Brightwheel app. If someone other than the parents will be dropping off and picking up the children, parents must update the approved pick up person list through the app and enrollment application at the center. Persons unknown to staff will be asked to provide an ID.

  • Question: How Do We Know if the Center Needs to Close for Some Reason?

Answer: We will message parents through email, texting, and the Brightwheel app. It is important to keep your contact information updated through the app as that is where we store parents’ contact information. We follow Tuscaloosa City Schools for closures.

  • Question: How Do I Withdraw My Child?

Answer: We require a 2-week written notice of withdrawal.
